Allegany County Commissioners took action this evening to approve $2,000 in funds to create a Regional Internship Job Bank. Garrett County Commissioner also approved $2,000 in funds for the project at their meeting held Thursday morning. The job bank will be administered by the Greater Cumberland Committee. The Regional Internship Job Bank will be a central online database for the region that will allow companies to connect with college students for seeking internships and temporary work. Businesses have cited finding qualified employees as a major problem in the region and the county.
