Other than venting on social media, many people in the community have not had the opportunity to let the Allegany County Board of Education know how they feel about a consultant’s report recommending at least two elementary school closings. That chance will come tonight at 6 PM at the Career Center in Cresaptown. While not hosted by the board, school board members and the superintendent are expected to be in attendance. The consultant recommended closing Parkside and Georges Creek schools while redistricting those students elsewhere. The proposal was met with mixed reactions from the elected board members.
