During the most recent Cumberland City Council meeting which was once again dominated by citizen concerns regarding the future of the three CSX bridges- one citizen questioned whether a safety plan was in place should an emergency occur in the West Side of the city. Access to the West Side has been dramatically impacted in recent years with bridges on Washington, Cumberland and Fayette streets all closed for repair or possible replacement.
