Cox Didn’t Make Recommendation On Effort To Remove Foote From The School Board

January 12th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County’s Superintendent of Schools, appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Friday, confirmed that specific details as well as evidence supporting a resolution calling for the dismissal of board member Wayne Foote has been provided to the school board’s new legal council.  That resolution was approved at the end of December by the previous school board, just days prior to the new board taking office.  According to new board members Robert Farrell and David Bohn, attempts to  access the information contained within the resolution were rebuffed by both holdover board member Tammy Fraley and Superintendent David Cox. Cox told WCBC News that all of the information is now in the hands of the firm of Geppert, McMullen, Paye and Getty- the firm now handling the board’s legal matters.  The board utilized the services of Columbia based attorney Judy Bresler to handle that December resolution as then board attorney Gary Hanna had advised that the issue not be pursued. Cox told WCBC that while his role is largely advisory, in this case he did not offer an opinion
