CPD Makes Arrests For Assault & Disturbance

Phillip Glenn Potter had assaulted him.  Investigation revealed Potter and the victim had been in a verbal argument when Potter struck him in the head with an ashtray.  Injuries were observed to the victim who declined medical treatment.  Potter was placed under arrest and charged with 2nd Degree Assault.  Potter was taken before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing where he was held without bond.  He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.

On June 3, 2018 at approximately 2:42 AM the Cumberland Police responded to the 600 block of Fayette Street for a male subject creating a disturbance.  When police arrived they contacted Jeremy Colt Moyers and told him not to create any further disturbances.  Less than an hour later at 3:26 AM police were called to the area of Fayette Street and Lee Street for a male screaming and causing a disturbance.  When police arrived they found Moyers to be the one creating a disturbance again.  Moyers was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for Failure to Obey.  He was released pending trial in District Court.
