CPD Responds To Disturbance Call & Make CDS Arrest

On Sunday December 4, 2016 at 1:00 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a disturbance call at a business in the 700 block of Greene Street.  Upon arrival officers observed Bethany Rafferty, age 27 of Cumberland acting in a disorderly manner as she was arguing with other patrons and officers.  Rafferty was repeatedly told to cease her actions but she failed to comply with the officer’s demand.  As officer’s attempted to place her into custody, she resisted arrest.  Once secured, she was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was processed and served.  She was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was released on her personal recognizance pending trial.

CHARGES:  Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest.

TRAFFIC STOP/CDS ARREST

On Sunday December 4, 2016, at 2:24 am, a Cumberland City Police Officer on patrol observed a vehicle travelling on Industrial Boulevard with a defective tail light.  The vehicle was stopped and upon contacting the driver, identified as Whitni Fisher, age 25, a probable cause search was made.  As a result, a baggie of crack cocaine was found in Fisher’s purse.  She was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was processed and served.  Fisher was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  She was released on her personal recognizance pending trial.

CHARGES:  Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possess of Paraphernalia.
