Sources talking with WCBC News on the condition of anonymity, are telling us that another round of furloughs is expected to affect CSX by the weekend. The information is not specific to Cumberland, but to the area of the railroad that operates in the Mid Atlantic, including such locations as Brunswick, Grafton, Baltimore, Hagerstown and Philadelphia.
CSX’s Rob Doolittle issued this statement: “CSX’s management team continues to undertake a comprehensive review of the company’s operations and is making changes across its network to improve efficiency, safety and service to customers. As changes are made, the company is communicating them to employees, customers and other stakeholders who may be impacted.”
