On Friday, the Cumberland Police Department responded to an Oak Street residence for the report of a male violating a protective order. When officers arrived, contact was made with Wayne Kenneth Gossert Jr. Gossert did have an active protective order on file prohibiting him from being at the Oak Street residence. He was arrested and charged with violation of a protective order. Gossert was also found to be in possession of quantity of marihuana. He was issued a citation for possession of marihuana under 10 grams. Gossert was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.
