On January 21, 2018 at approximately 11:52 PM, a Cumberland Police Officers was monitoring traffic in the area on Henderson Avenue when he heard an argument occurring. As the subjects approached, the officer observed a male subject identified as Dameon Locket, age 35 of Cumberland assault a female victim. After observing the assault, the officer exited his vehicle and advised Locket that he was under arrest. Locket then ran from the area while the officer pursued him on foot. While Locket was fleeing the area, the officer observed him discard a baggie which was recovered and found to contain a controlled dangerous substance. Locket was quickly apprehended and placed under arrest. Locket was then taken to the Cumberland Police Department where he was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, and Possession of CDS Not Marijuana. Locket was then transported to District Court for his Initial Appearance and released on his own recognizance.
