Cumberland Police Make CDS Arrest & Serves Warrants

On 04/11/18 at 10:28 am an Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept observed a vehicle perform a traffic infraction in the area of Front St at Baltimore Ave. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the operator. A drug detection K-9 from the Cumberland Police Dept was requested to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle resulting in a positive alert. Officer located a quantity of marijuana and THC oil inside the vehicle.  As a result officers placed 26 year old Chadwick Steiner of Cumberland under arrest and transported him to Police Headquarters where he was charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana over 10 grams. Steiner was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on his personal recognizance pending his next court appearance.

 

Arrest Warrant Served

 

On 04/11/18 the Cumberland Police Dept served an arrest warrant on 28 year old Patrick Lumb of Cumberland. The warrant stems from an incident investigated by the Cumberland Police Dept on 02/27/18 when officers responded to the 100blk of W. Oldtown Rd in reference to an assault. Upon arrival Officers observed injuries to the victim that did not require medical attention. Charges were applied for through the District Court of Maryland resulting in the arrest warrant being issued. Lumb was processed and served the warrant that charged him with second degree assault, harassment, telephone misuse, and false imprisonment. Lumb was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held without bond pending his next court appearance.  

 

On 04/11/18 the Cumberland Police Dept served a criminal summons on 25 year old Garrett Carnefix of Cumberland. The summons stems from an incident investigated by the Cumberland Police Dept on 04/01/18 when officers responded to a business located in the 100blk of North Mechanic St. Upon arrival it was learned that an unknown subject had dumped the trash cans inside the business and damaged several coin operated machines. Video surveillance was obtained resulting in Carnefix being identified as the suspect resulting in the summons being issued. Carenfix was served the summons charging him with Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000 and released pending trial in District Court.
