Cumberland Police Make Midday Drug Bust

Cumberland Police officers responded to the area of Marion St. at Baltimore Ave. to investigate a complaint of a vehicle involved with CDS activity.

Upon their arrival to the area they observed a vehicle matching the description parked in the parking lot. The occupants of the vehicle were contacted. It appeared that both subject were under the influence of some type of narcotic. Both occupants were checked for a valid drivers license and it was discovered that they were both suspended.

A K-9 performed a free air sniff and provided a positive alert for the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and searched.

The passenger was identified as Richard Lee Damewood. During the search of him a small baggie containing heroin, two capped syringes and a container with 5 Oxymorphone pills. Damewood was placed under arrest and transported to PH where he was processed, charged and then taken for a Bond Hearing.

 

Richard Lee Damewood II Age: 32 Augusta, WV

Charges: 2 counts CDS possession, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia

Damewood was held in the ACDC on $3000 Bond.

 

District Court Arrest Warrants Served

 

Earl Willis Robinette Jr. Age: 52 Pennsylvania Ave., Cumb.

Charge: Trespass on Posted Property

Robinette was taken for a Bond Hearing and held in the ACDC on a $3000 Bond.
