On 08/27/17 at 1133pm Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the first block of East Second St for a report of an assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that they were slapped in the face and pushed to the ground. Officers observed injuries consistent with being slapped which did not require medical attention. As a result officers placed 34 year old Joseph Vizza of Cumberland under arrest and transported him to Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with second degree assault. Vizza was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a $5,000 bail pending his next court appearance.
Destruction of Property
On 08/28/17 at 0209am Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 400blk of Goethe St for a report of a destruction of property complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that person(s) unknown threw a rock through their front window. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.
