With very little fanfare, the Allegany County Commissioners voted unanimously Thursday night approving a resolution to establish what will be known as the “Del Commission”. The purpose of the commission, as described by the commissioners is to ensure the long term success of the Del McCoury bluegrass festival held each year at the county fairgrounds. In the past two weeks there had been reports of infighting among the commissioners, as well as with representatives of DelFest regarding some hurdles that remain that has delayed the signing of a new contract. Commissioner Bill Valentine said last night that this committee should go a long way in appeasing Del Fest representatives who have been looking for stability and consistency on the county level in helping plan the festival…
