Despite Mediocre Marks, Improvements Demonstrated in PARCC Tests Locally

While there were some incremental improvements overall, second-year scores for Allegany County high school students who took the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers tests show the majority of students received less than stellar marks. Introduced in the 2014-2015 school year, PARCC tests were conducted for Algebra I, Algebra II and English 10.  Marsha Miller, assessment and testing coordinator for the Allegany County Public School System, provided an overview of the general results to the Board of Education. She said that while the numbers aren’t where most would like them to be, some progress is being demonstrated…
