The DDC this morning welcomed Mikayla Dodge as its New Executive Director.
Mikayla Dodge grew up in Glen Burnie, MD and graduated from Frostburg State University with a Bachelors Degree in Music in 2015. Mikayla has been a resident of Ridgeley, WV for 2.5 years. Mikayla has a lot of experience working with different businesses and organizations in the community. She has worked at the Allegany Arts Council, The Community Trust Foundation and the Western Maryland Music Center. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Cumberland Choral Society and the Embassy Theatre, as well as a member of the Cumberland Music and Arts Club. She also co-directs Allegany Acapella Harmony (sponsored by the Chorus of the Potomac) with her husband, Zach Dodge. She has also helped in providing entertainment and volunteering for many local events including the Downtown Cumberland Tree Lighting, the Cumberland Arts Walk, and the Cumberland New Year’s Eve Ball Drop. Having worked downtown for her time since graduation she is very familiar with its assets.
“I fell in love with the area when I moved here to attend college. My husband and I chose to stay after graduating because there were, and still are, so many opportunities to get involved . I am honored to have been chosen for this position and I look forward to working with the DDC to continue to make a positive impact on our community."
