Downed Tree Knocks Out Power to Cumberland Country Club

August 8th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Power is still out at Cumberland Country Club.
According to David Gearing, during Friday's storm, a tree fell on the power line leading to the club at around 4:00 PM.  Initially, Potomac Edison estimated the problem would be corrected by 8:00 PM, but repairs proved to be more extensive, and the problem continued to affect CCC Saturday.
Because of the lack of electric, carts cannot be charged and golfing will be limited to walking only.  The clubhouse is also closed.

OH, the humanity!! My heart goes out to those poor unfortunates that have been dealt such a blow. How will they keep the pate’ and caviar chilled? Are the members expected to have their Manhattans without ice? I don’t think that I’ll be able to sleep without knowing that power has been restored. My prayers go out to them.
