September 16th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack will conduct a DUI checkpoint.

Beginning the night of Sept. 23, the checkpoint's primary purpose is to educate the motoring public in Allegany County about the dangers of impaired driving.

During the checkpoint operation, troopers will attempt to detect and apprehend violators of the Maryland impaired driving laws.

The goal of this DUI checkpoint is to reduce the number of alcohol related collisions occurring in Allegany County.
