Ehrlich Discusses Not Running in 2016; Trump as Front-runner

August 6th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

With the likelihood that he may very well have gotten lost in the crowd, former Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich made it official this week: he won’t be a presidential candidate in 2016.  With a republican field already at 17- Ehrlich would have faced an uphill battle in primaries against a dozen plus more well known candidates, some of whom have been campaigning for the better part of a year.  In an interview to discuss his decision, Ehrlich was asked if he thought Donald Trump’s emergence as the clear GOP front runner at this point was good or bad for the party. Ehrlich said that while voters are clearly enjoying the  “no holds barred” candor of the real estate magnate and television personality- often times he goes too far- and that may cost him in the long run.
