Embassy to host bands on Friday

November 11th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Embassy Theatre in downtown Cumberland will host two bands Nov. 13 when the downstrokes is joined by Jon Felton and Soulmobile for a night of bad luck rock ‘n’ roll.

The downstrokes is composed of Gerry LaFemina on vocals and guitar, Mike Holland on lead guitar and backing vocals, Bill Poorbaugh on drums and Aaron Hoel on bass. All four members have played in various punk and hardcore bands, including Gerry and Mike in the Furious Hours from 2007 to 2010. The downstrokes play a driving rock ‘n’ roll with a unique sound that fuses Southern California surf punk, ‘70s New York, pop punk, alternative rock and some mod/garage punk stylings.

Jon Felton and Soulmobile return to the Embassy stage playing their own unique mix of folk, bluegrass and eclectic music. Songwriter and vocalist Jon Felton will be accompanied by Matt Smith and Josh Haza.

The music will start at 8 p.m. with a nominal cover charge. The Embassy is located at 49 Baltimore St. For more information, call 240 362-7183 or go to embassytheatrecumberland on Facebook.
