Fiber Optics Line Installed Downtown

August 6th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports a half-dozen workers were busy Thursday installing at least 70 feet of fiber optics line on the west end of the downtown mall. “We started work yesterday and should be done today if all goes well,” said Chip Markwood, area supervisor of Nicholas Construction Inc. of Romney, W.Va. The line was being installed at the outside area of the CBIZ building at 44 Baltimore St. The work was taking place as the farmers market was busy with a steady stream of customers at the east end of the mall. Markwood said the work was being performed through a contract with Verizon.
