FluMist Vaccination Clinics for ACPS Students Postponed

October 27th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

FluMist Vaccination Clinics for ACPS Elementary students have been postponed until December.  Parents Do Not Need to Complete New Consent Forms.  The FluMist vaccination clinics scheduled for November 2-6, 2015, in ACPS elementary schools is being postponed due to delays in manufacturing and shipping of the vaccine. The Allegany County Health Department will receive the vaccine in early December, and clinics are now rescheduled for the week of December 14-18, 2015. If parents would still like their child to receive the FluMist, they do not need to complete a new consent form; however, if they choose to have their child vaccinated elsewhere for influenza, they are encouraged to notify their child’s school nurse to avoid children being vaccinated twice. Please note that if children receive any other vaccination, such as MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) prior to the December FluMist clinic, parents should also contact their child’s school nurse to avoid any possible contraindications. Letters from the health department will be sent home with elementary school children in the near future. For more information, please contact the Allegany County Health Department at 301-759-5082.
