Gas Prices Holding Steady Locally

The national average price of gas has seen a reversal of course this week, inching upward to $2.22, four cents higher than last week’s price.  Pump prices have declined by seven cents month-over-month and motorists are benefitting from significant yearly savings, with today’s price 74 cents per gallon less than a year ago. Despite this slight uptick, the national average continues to sit at its lowest price for this date since 2007 and has remained below $3 per gallon for over a year since November 1, 2014.

Maryland’s average cost at the pump is four cents lower than the national average at $2.18 per gallon.  The state average is five cents less than one week ago, six cents less than last month, and 74 cents per gallon cheaper than last year on this date.  Maryland’s average price has remained below $3 per gallon for over a year as well since October 27, 2014. In Cumberland the prices are holding steady at $2.19
