The new artificial turf at Greenway Avenue Stadium has been almost completely installed. Yard markers and other painting are underway now. The first artificial surface was installed in 1998 and the second surface approximately ten years later.

New astroturf every ten years? But can’t afford any school nurses, new computers, books, teacher pay, etc etc.? And people wonder why the rest of Maryland thinks we’re ignorant hillbillies. Because WE ARE.

“can’t afford any school nurses, new computers, books, teacher pay”…we throw a lot of money at that stuff all ready with little to no results….this notion that some how more money will fix our ignorance issue has been played to death. Football turf aside, the school system has enough money to fund both the turf and the tools needed to to teach reading, writing and cyphering.
Plus, I may be wrong and am ready to stand and be corrected if needed, I believable a good portion of the cost for the new turf was covered with fund raisers so the impact to the budget should have been minimal.
