July 8th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Health Department is advising the media to respect the privacy of those planning on getting tested for COVID-19 during the upcoming drive tdrive-thru clinics planned at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. By law the health department  must provide the same level of patient privacy as a hospital or any other healthcare facility.  Members of the media may not make direct contact with any visitors to the site. Distant footage of cars entering the clinic and distant photography of the clinic grounds and building exteriors is permitted. Photos or videos that can be used to identify any of the visitors to the site are a violation of federal HIPAA law and will not be allowed. Additionally, photos or videos that reveal the interiors of facilities or testing bays at the facilities will not be allowed.
