Heroin Task Force Continues Working

Maryland Lt. Governer Boyd Rutherford talked with the media this week  about a few of his main concerns and his place in the Hogan administration. In particular, Rutherford discussed the heroin task force, for which he is chair. He defined the mission of the task force as a method of prevention, treatment, and recovery. "We're taking a holistic approach to it," he states about the task force. Rutherford said that there's been a surge of heroin usage in the last several year. "We're seeing the streets being flooded with heroin," Rutherford commented on the air.The task force will release a preliminary report this summer, and a plan for the governor by the end of the year.
