Hooley Plunge Scheduled For March 4th

Now in its thirteenth year and with more than 600 participants, the Hooley Plunge has become the largest single day fundraising event in Allegany County. The inspiration of Dr. Sean McCagh, the Hooley Plunge annually raises money for the Special Olympics of Allegany County and several other local programs for the developmentally disabled by having brave souls jump into the frigid waters of Lake Habeeb at Rocky Gap State Park. This year’s Hooley Plunge is scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 1 pm. Members of the Alhambra Wamba Caravan #89 coordinate the event. Taking over the co-chair responsibilities this year from Dr. McCagh and Jim Stafford are Alhambra members, Murray Gornall and Rob Adams- and the addressed the Cumberland Rotary Club Tuesday. Adams emphasized that the Hooley Plunge fully funds the entire annual budget for the Special Olympics of Allegany County…
