On Monday evening, 04/08/2013, at approximately 10:00 PM, a lone male suspect entered the fair Price Market on Church Street in Westernport. The suspect brought two small items to the counter to make payment. The suspect asked the cashier for another item, and when the cashier turned to retrieve the item, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspect then left the store, got into a small, dark colored passenger vehicle, and fled the scene.

Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. A search was conducted, but the suspect was not located at the time. A Crime Scene Technician with the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division processed the scene for evidence.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5-10 to 6-00 in height, with slim build. He was wearing blue jeans and a bright blue “hoodie” type sweatshirt with the hood pulled up in an attempt to conceal his identity.

Follow-up investigation is being conducted by the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I). Anyone with information about the crime is being asked to contact C3I, at 301-777-0326, or the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, at 301-759-5959.
