Jeff Blank Begins Duties As Interim Superintendent of Allegany County Public Schools

August 2nd, 2019 by WCBC Radio

The David Cox era has officially ended as Jeff Blank began his duties Thursday as interim Superintendent of Allegany County Public Schools.  Blank, who has served as the school system's chief administrative officer, will fill the role for the upcoming school year. Blank’s tenure in Allegany County began in 1988, as a math teacher. Other positions he has held include as a coordinating teacher at John Humbird Elementary School; assistant principal at both Washington Middle and Fort Hill High schools; and assistant supervisor of transportation. He worked in the Human Resources Department since 2003. While the vote by the board last month to name Blank as the interim was not unanimous he does appear to have the full support of the board. Board members Deb Frank and Tammy Fraley abstained from the vote in July- having expressed concern with the process. Appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show”, Frank made it clear that although she abstained from voting for Blank’s appointment- she believes he is well qualified for the job…
