Justice announces more grants for WV fairs/festivals

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has announced a second round of grants to fairs and festivals- this time totaling more than $1.3 million. Justice made the announcement on Tuesday in a virtual media event that included Curator of the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History Randall Reid-Smith, representatives of several West Virginia fairs and festivals. The funds will be on top of some $1.5 million awarded just last week. The funds are to be divided up among more than 300 fairs and festivals that have been canceled this year, including the Mineral County Fair. Many of those events live on a shoe-string budget from year-to-year and shutting down even one year could doom an event forever.  Justice said he could not stand by allow that to happen…
