At approximately 12:21 AM Sunday, officers were called to Lafayette Avenue residence for several juveniles attempting to break into a vehicle.
Officers arrived in the area and location several juveniles on Virginia Avenue near Potomac Street. While talking with the juveniles one subject attempted to flee from officers running towards River Avenue. A short foot pursuit ensued and the juvenile was taken into custody.
The witness from Lafayette Avenue was brought to the area were officers were detaining the juveniles. The witness positively identified the juveniles as the ones he observed attempting to enter the vehicle. All three juveniles were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing.
The juveniles were charged and later released to their parents pending trial in Juvenile Court.
