In his final meeting as a member of the City Council, David Kauffman recommended that a committee be appointed to study the salaries of Cumberland's city officials. While there is an Allegany County salary study commission that makes recommendations on compensation increases for the county commissioners, board of education members, the sheriff, judge of orphan’s court and other county seats- there is no such group for municipalities.
