Local Police Conduct Criminal Interdiction Effort

Friday, officers with the Cumberland Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, and the Allegany County State's Attorney's Office conducted a criminal interdiction within the City of Cumberland.

As a result of the operation, officers conducted 22 traffic stops, 11 K-9 scans, served two grand jury indictments for CDS related charges, made 4 possession of not marijuana arrests, five felony CDS possession with intent to distribute arrests, and one felony distribution arrest.

Officers seized 129.9 grams of Heroin/Fentanyl, 8.5 grams of Crack Cocaine, 1 gram of Methamphetamine, and 474.5 grams of marijuana. Two search and Seizure warrants were executed as well.

Names are being withheld at this time due to further investigations and possible future charges.
