Man arrested after striking pedestrian on Queen City Drive

January 6th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

On Friday afternoon an officer was on patrol on Queen City Drive.  During this time a pedestrian began waving at the officer to get her attention.

The officer then contacted a subject who was bleeding from head.  The subject advised the officer that he was walking in the Queen City Drive cross walk when he was struck by a vehicle.  The officer was then contacted by Donald Joseph Pryor who admitted to driving the vehicle that struck the subject.

As the officers were conducting their investigation they were unable to locate Pryor’s vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that Pryor had the vehicle removed from the scene due to numerous registration and insurance violations.

Pryor was placed under arrest and transported to the station for charges and processing.  He was later transported to the District Court commissioner’s office for his initial appearance.  As a result of the hearing he was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a $1,000.00 bond.

The victim in the incident sustained non-life threatening injuries.
