Man drowns in Garrett County

 A 28-year-old Annapolis man drowned early Wednesday evening in the Youghiogheny River at Swallow Falls State Park, according to Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thompson. The Cumberland Times News reports the body of William Kyle Regan was reportedly recovered at about 8:30 p.m. in the Lower Falls area of the river by members of the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department's dive team. Police said Regan was in the company of his mother and was swimming when he disappeared from sight.

 

First-responders including the dive team and Maryland State Police helicopter reportedly were alerted to the incident at about 8 p.m. 

The Garrett County 911 emergency center was not alerted to the incident, according to a dispatcher there.
