Maryland Begins Slow Reopening Process Over Weekend

May 18th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Maryland officially began the process of reopening this past weekend  as Governor Larry Hogan gave the yellow light for some businesses and houses of worship to carefully restart operations after the deadly coronavirus pandemic forced a shutdown that lasted more than six weeks and wreaked economic havoc across the region. The change took effect at Friday at 5 p.m.- a week ahead of Memorial Day weekend. In the counties that have begun the reopening process, the emphasis is on caution. Conditions for reopening prioritize safety, social distancing and cleanliness. The statewide stay-at-home order was replaced with a “safer at home” policy that relaxes some restrictions. Despite frustrations being expressed by many of the businesses that have not yet been given the go ahead to re-open- Governor Hogan says the state will continue to prioritize health and safety and rely on the medical experts opinions when making decisions…

And the story below this one is that Allegany County experienced two covid deaths… Keep it up and the only businesses we will need opened are funeral home.

Oh Dan, a death is still a death. I’d assume you’d also retort to Hitler’s atrocities with “Jewish Ghettos account for most of the deaths” like that’s okay and its really a problem with the ghettos not the communities issue.

This is all nice but no word from our commissioners on how we as a county are reopening (what’s allowed or not allowed). The governor laid it on the counties to determine how we do this within the rules and the commissioners are quite. We need a statement plan on reopening.
