Maryland Jobless Rate Increases

Maryland's jobless rate ticked up in July- and a spokesman for the Regional Economic Studies Institute at Towson University believes the federal sequester has played a role in these job losses. The latest figures were released today by the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. For July the rate increased to 7.1 percent from a figure that was 7 percent even in June.
