May 22nd, 2019 by WCBC Radio

According to numbers released this month, more than 2,300 Marylanders died from drug overdoses last year, an increase of about 5% from the year before. A new report issued by The Maryland Department of Health shows the number of Marylanders who died after taking a fatal dose of fentanyl, the synthetic version of heroin, jumped by 17 percent last year.  Health officials say cocaine related deaths went up last year by 30 percent. The report found that almost all of the cocaine related deaths came from the users taking fatal doses of cocaine laced with fentanyl. Last year, about 2,100 people died from drug overdoses that were related to opioids. Despite all of those alarming numbers, there is some encouraging data on the local front.  Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade says while the state numbers are on the rise, the numbers are dropping in the region…

STOP ALL THE COMPLAINING ABOUT DRUG OVERDOSES !
We as a society have brought this scourge on ourselves. By NOT teaching our children right and wrong, respect, discipline, rules and laws, and many other things. We have tried to be different than our parents and it’s failing miserably. All under the plan to be more civilized.. NOT WORKING!

We as a society need to demand more from our children and reestablish responsibility as a character trait.

I’m a senior now but my parents told me about drugs and their effects. They demanded respect and consideration from me and I had my backside (ass) smacked of I did not obey. NO I didn’t like it, but in the end I learned right from wrong. I became a responsible individual for myself and people around me and a good citizen.

If these people want to take drugs and kill themselves…Go for it. That will give the good citizens lots of extra tax money to replace aging infrastructure we so badly need. MAYBE PEOPLE WILL LEARN. MAYBE THEY WON’T. THIS IS AMERICA AND YOU HAVE SO MUCH FREEDOM HERE SO LET FREE AMERICANS CHOOSE THEIR OWN DESTINY. (Maybe once parents start realizing that they need to be responsible for bringing children into this world and educating them and making them kind, respectful, and responsible we will overcome this scourge that has overtaken our daily lives. Can I get an AMEN????
