Delegate Mike McKay, during a recent meeting with state transportation officials, discussed the need to improve the safety conditions along Route 51 near the Mexico Farms area. McKay, who represents portions of Allegany and Washington counties, told Maryland’s Deputy Transportation Secretary Jim Ports that that particular stretch of road has proven dangerous, with a fatality there just last year. He says there has been some talk of construction a round-about to improve the situation. Ports says while the prospect of a round-about would probably draw negative reactions, overall they have proven to be more safe…
