MD 6th Congressional District Candidates Discuss Issues At Forums

October 29th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The national debt, immigration, the drug epidemic and gun control were all issues tackled during a series of candidate forum this month for Maryland's 6th Congressional District. Four candidates are running for the seat being vacated by Representative John Delaney. Those are Democrat David Trone; Republican Amie Hoeber; Libertarian Kevin Caldwell and Green Party candidate George Gluck.  Hoeber, 76, of Potomac, has emphasized her experience in the national defense sector and loyalty to Western Maryland during her campaign. Trone, 63, also from Potomac and a wine and liquor retailing magnate, said he's been in Western Maryland "since day one" of the campaign and pledged to continue as a congressman.  On school safety and gun control, Trone said Republicans are using scare tactics when they talk about efforts to abolish the second amendment…

Hoeber pledged to protect the Second Amendment, but also fight for common sense gun control legislation…
