Maryland’s Secretary of Budget and Management David Brinkley was treated to a tour Canal Place and the Footer Dye Works building this week during a visit to Western Maryland. Brinkley tells WCBC News that it’s exciting to see a redevelopment project in Cumberland- particularly since it could be an anchor for tourism and economic development opportunities. The Footer project is a $9 million renovation effort by partners Michael Joy of Joy Development in Washington, D.C., Brian Wishneff & Associates, a tax syndicate based in Roanoke, Va., and Bruce Firlie of JLD Construction, Cumberland.
