Meeting Held To Discuss Crime Generated By Students Attending Local Colleges

December 17th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

District 1B Delegate Jason Buckel convened a meeting of local college and law enforcement officials to discuss issues surrounding crime generated by what appears to be a small contingent of students at Frostburg State University and Allegany College of Maryland.

Buckel says crime, especially violent crime, is on the verge of affecting his ability to generate community support for both institutions…

Representatives of both colleges acknowledged the problem and said there are major consequences for students who get in trouble and are identified. Presidents Tom Bowling of FSU and Cynthia Bambara of ACM and their staffs have been meeting to tackle the issues surrounding the actions of a relative few that have grabbed the attention of residents.
