Over the weekend, local businessman George Merling released an email that indicated that his proposal to develop a Riverside Recreational Park on the Potomac River would need city leadership to go forward.
Monday, Merling told WCBC News that he hasn’t completely given up on the project, and said he has a problem with a city employee who he says tried to derail the plan from his first visit to the site…
Merling said he plans on pushing his plan through city channels before going through an application with the Army Corps of Engineers, which has say over what can and cannot happen along the Flood Control levee.
