Senator Barbara Mikulski on Wednesday co-chaired a bipartisan hearing on access to child care. The hearing focused on challenges different states face in implementing the Child Care Development Block Grant Act of 2014 to improve access to affordable child care. It serves more than 1.4 million children each month, including about 18,000 in Maryland, while their parents work, attend school or receive job training.
