Entering her final weeks in office, Maryland U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski acknowledges that it may be time for someone younger to lead-and turn the Democratic Party on a new path. A member of congress since 1976 and now the longest serving female member of the U.S. Senate- Mikulski will resign the post in January- after making the decision to retire, replaced by Chris Van Hollen.
