Mineral County Emergency Management has confirmed to WCBC News that a shooting occurred yesterday in the Short Gap area, but did not have any additional details.
Attempts to contact the Mineral County Sheriff's office, which investigated the incident, were unsuccessful. West Virginia State Police also had no additional information.
Our information is that a female victim sustained a wound, but has thus far survived. Sources also say that a suspect has been identified, but the status of charges is unknown at this point.
