Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Beginning At 7AM

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON… THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE…SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 1500 FEET.

* ACCUMULATIONS…A COATING OF SNOW AND SLEET…AND A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE FROM FREEZING RAIN FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 1500 FEET. LITTLE OR NO ACCUMULATION BELOW 1500 FEET.

* TIMING…PRECIPITATION WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA BETWEEN 8 AM AND 11 AM THIS MORNING. PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY BEGIN AS A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN BEFORE CHANGING TO ALL FREEZING RAIN BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS…UNTREATED ROADS AND SIDEWALKS WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS DUE TO ICE FOR THE RIDGE TOPS ABOVE 1500 FEET.

* WINDS…SOUTHEAST 5 TO 10 MPH

* TEMPERATURES…LOWER 30S.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CENTRAL AND EASTERN ALLEGANY
