The annual Groundhog Day prognostication of Mountain Maryland Murray came to pass this morning at Cumberland City Hall.
Mayor Ray Morriss consulted with Bob Candy, of the Tristate Zoological Park and keeper of our local groundhog, reading a proclamation that revealed that Murray did not see his shadow, which means an early spring.
In Punxatawney Pennsylvania, Phil also did not see his shadow.

I hate to disappoint but the groundhog in my backyard, sorry I didn’t get his name, saw his shadow and that means that spring will be coming at the usual time. At least at my house.
