On Saturday, a Cumberland Police Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on E/B I-68 in the area of Willowbrook Road for a traffic violation.
The officer contacted the driver who was identified as Mansoor Shabon and he was informed for the reason of the stop. While the officer spoke with Shabon, the officer detected an odor of burnt marihuana. When questioned, Shabron admitted to possessing a quantity of medical marihuana and also told the officer that he was carrying a handgun that he had a permit for. Shabron was asked to step from the vehicle and the firearm was collected from his waistband for safety reason. Further investigation revealed that Shabron only had a concealed carry permit in the state of Pennsylvania.
He was arrested and charged with wearing and carry a handgun in a vehicle, wearing and carrying a handgun on his person, and wearing and carrying a loaded handgun on his person. Shabron was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.
