Plans Moving Forward To Install High-Speed Broadband Lines Downtown

Cumberland Economic Development Corporation executive director Paul Kelly reports that plans are moving forward to install high-speed broadband lines in the downtown area. Providing an update at the most recent Downtown Development Commission meeting, Kelly said that the Maryland Broadband Cooperative will be installing conduit and fiber and they will be providing technical support as to how to wire all the buildings downtown. He says a key to the negotiations center on the co-op completing a loop   from the top of Baltimore Street over to Polk Street. He expects final details to be agreed upon and ready for the city council’s approval sometime in October…
