Police Log – 11/16/15

Domestic Assault

On 11/15/15 at 12:53pm Officers with the Cumberland Police responded to a residence located in the 100blk of Memorial Ave in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that an argument has ensued which turned physical. The victim advised that the suspect had a knife and attempted to swing it at them but did not actually strike them with it. As a result Officers applied for charges through the District Court of Maryland on 24 year old Brittnie Turner of Cumberland. At approximately 7:30pm Officers responded back to the residence for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers located Brittnie and took her into custody on the arrest warrant. Brittnie was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where she was served with the warrant charging her with one count of First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Obstructing and Hindering Police. Brittnie was then taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was held on a $20,000 bond pending her next court appearance.

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On 11/15/15 the Cumberland Police Dept served an arrest warrant on 40 year old Byron Morrison of Cumberland. The warrant stems from a private citizen filling charges through the District Court charging him with one count of Assault Second Degree, Disturbing the Peace, and Disorderly Conduct. Morrison was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on his personal recognizance pending his next court appearance.

 

Domestic Assault

On 11/15/15 at 7:55pm responded to the 500blk of Pine Ave in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that an argument ensued which turned physical. Officers observed minor injuries to the victim which did not require medical attention. As a result Officers placed 36 year old Lisa Bates of Cumberland under arrest. Bates was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where she was charged with 2 counts of Second Degree Assault. Bates was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond pending her next court appearance.
